Direct TV Complaint - Don't Get Direct TV! Poor Service!!!
POMONA, CALIFORNIA -- Being a new customer to Direct TV, I thought I would get better customer care and help from them, however everything was a nightmare!! After I had spoken to a sales representative about my installation, she had scheduled me for the next available appt (1 week later),it didn't fit my schedule, but I did it anyways only to hear that he could not get a line of site... I had told him that he was able to use any side of the building and he declined and said no....I showed him all the direct dishes around my complex and he still refused to check... I then asked for a second opinion, a manager, and he said he would come out that day... He didn't... I waited and waited and finally called back the tech that came to my house and asked what had happened... no response... after waiting 3 more days, I got fed up and called Direct TV myself... They had told me that my order has been cancelled... I was pretty mad since I was never informed... The lady then scheduled me for another appt... (4days later) and the guy came out and said the same thing... (but that was after he had read the order history) That tech never walked around the house or even tried to find a line of site!!! After he told me he wasn't going to do anything for me, he quickly answered another call and took off to work on another site...
I called Direct back... They appologized and had said they will send another tech out.. this time a "new one.." and this time, no one came... I waited a few days and still nothing... I called Direct back and they said that my ticket has been closed and that the techs refuse to come out and check... WOW!! So much for customer care and follow up!!! I was very angry.. I called the head quarters and explained what had happened and yet no one was able to do a darn thing. I asked to speak to their techs and they couldn't even get ahold of them! All they kept saying was that they are going to put a ticket in and someone will call me in 24hrs... yet.. still... nothing... after I called two more times, I finally gave up and told them to just refund my money back...(Direct TV takes half of your month's bill while dish takes only 1.00 to secure your account) The account manager then had the audacity to tell me "we value you as a customer so please consider us if you ever do move," my response was "are you joking??" I would never recommend direct to anyone... My boyfriend currently has it and I had told him to switch to dish and when I cancelled his account, Direct had no regards in trying to keep him as a customer even tho he's been loyal to them for 4-5 years... Dish may not have the best English speaking reps but they get the job done!
I called Dish at 3pm and they came out at 4pm (the same day) and installed all that I needed and for a much cheaper price than Direct. Lesson learned, Direct TV has poor customer service and care and follow ups are "not in their line of site!"
