Dish Network Complaint - Still Waiting For A Resolution - Horrible Customer Service And Service In General
TEXAS -- I do plan to type up a full review of what I've been dealing with over the past few months with this company but for now... just the cliff notes.
I called to cancel service after receiving yet another increase on my bill that I had not been notified of. Customer service stated that I had signed a contract that would allow them to make increases at their discretion - I signed no such contract and dish after 2 weeks admitted to that therefore they waived the cancellation fee and the $99.00 installation fee and promised to send me a box with a prepaid UPS label - which they did. I dropped off all of the equipment as instructed to our local UPS location and it was scanned in on 10/5. As of yesterday - 10/20 - UPS tracking had apparently 'lost' the package, it was supposed to be delivered on the 11th, then the 17th . . . as of today 10/21, it still hasn't been delivered. Knowing that dish will charge for the equipment if not returned by 30 days after cancellation (which for me will be 10/27) I am quite concerned about this. UPS almost NEVER screws up, it shouldn't take this long to get to Texas from Illinois using UPS Ground. Did dish refuse the shipment? Is UPS somehow in kahoots? (extremely doubtful)
At any rate, stay away from Dishnetwork. They are nothing but crooked, unethical, liars, scammers - I could go on and on. Will post an update when I find out WHERE that package is and I am truly expecting that I haven't heard the last from dish. I should also add that in numerous phone calls to dish customer service, they refuse to acknowledge any conversation via email or regular mail (in other words, they will not put anything in writing) nor will they give a confirmation number re: cancellation nor will they issue a zero balance statement to confirm that you don't owe them anything. Pretty shady eh?
