Sears Complaint - Sears expensive doors break right away
FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA -- I spent almost $ 4,000 for an entry door and a storm door. The salesman was at my house till 11 pm, the installer came on a Sunday. After not even 2 weeks a piece of the storm door broke off. I called customer service and was told I would have to stay home from 10 am to 2 pm during a week day to get it repaired. I complained about having to waste a day of leave to have the poor quality yet expensive door repaired and asked to have someone sent later or during weekends. The answer was that repair men don't work outside business hours. Not happy I called different numbers and I was given many different answers and told to wait for solutions and phone calls that never arrived. I was kept on the phone for hours being passed around from one representative to another and having to re-explain everything each time. Finally I called the office of the supervisor for my area and got to talk to someone who stated that the installer would be calling me to set up an appointment at my convenience. It never happened. I will have to wait until Christmas to get this poor quality very expensive door repaired. Sears takes your money and than does not stand behind its products. Also, it's very difficult to reach the right person. The number for my project manager printed on my paperwork does not work, other numbers I have called send me around and around.
I cannot wait to have my Thanksgiving and Christmas parties to tell everybody how crappy my new doors are and how poor the customer service at Sears is, above all the one in the "Quality Control" department. I already started my advertisement campaign among my colleagues...
