Consumers Suzuki Complaint - False Advertising / Lawsuit

Review by mudpuppy5 on 2011-10-21
BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN -- I was told that they would match ant down payment. I was interested in a 2006 PT Cruiser for 6995.00, I told him that I would put 3500.00 down and they said that they would match it OK. Well when I told them that I was going to do that, HIke said are you crazy, we don't just give cars away. What we do is add the amount to the down payment on the loan paperwork and raise the price of the car on the paperwork. I would still pay financing on the remaining 3500.00 dollars. I think this is a lawsuit. What do you all think. Should I call Sam?

I respect your creativity, but I don't think dealers are going to give cars away for 50% off the sticker price. I am sure there was some fine print somewhere that you may have overlooked.

I don't understand the "offer" so I can't evaluate the complaint.

What does it mean that the dealer will "match" a down payment? I do understand that if your down payment is half the price of the car, you should be financing the other half, which it sounds like is what they told you verbally.

You should turn them in to your state AG. This offer has no real value other than to manipulate the loan process and it is farily deceptive.

I like your style man.

I think if what you wrote is what was said, you may have a good case here. However I'm sure they have their butts covered somewhere in the fine print. Like it can only be up to a certain % of the total price, etc. Come back and let us know what happens.

I can guarantee you without any further information needed, that no way was the offer advertised in such a way that would allow a scenario were someone could put enough down to steal a car at half price, or be able to sue instead, based on misleading advertisement.
