Spangler Complaint - I feel like a real dum-dum!

Review by 143061 on 2011-10-21
I was shopping at the store the other day, and headed to the candy aisle to pick up some goodies for my office. The type of work I do entails about 20-30 different employees visiting my office daily. Therefore, I like to be a gracious host and have a candy bowl on my desk for them as they file in and out.

This week I decided on dum-dums. It was a variety bag, and was filled with several of the "mystery" suckers. I guess I was a dum-dum and sucker for buying the variety bag, since there was no variety. Because I'm not a certified mathematician, I can only speculate as to what the exact percentages are, but it's safe to say that over 90% of the mystery suckers are blue raspberry flavored. I watched time and time again, as each person unwrapped one and sat down to talk with me...the same blue raspberry.

I suppose next time I'll just save myself the trouble and purchase a bag of strictly blue raspberry...although I think I already have?

The other 10% seemed to be root beer flavored.

I would have taken it back as soon as I realized what was wrong. My best guess is that the mechanism for mixing up the Dum-dums so you get a real mix malfunctioned. It happens. Sorry.

That's a darn good flavor though, I will happily take those off of your hands. I'll just have to deal with a week of blue tongue syndrome!

I'll stick to Tootsie Pops.

Fill your bowl with Hershey Kisses and I may never leave your office

I think something malfunctioned at the Dum Dum factory.

I don't like blue raspberry...at all.

Littleshorty> Too funny...cuz I just had Hershey Kisses in there before. Two bowls, one with dark chocolate kisses, and the other with almonds inside the kisses.

One of my elementary school teachers used to say: "Dum-Dum Pops...for dum-dum kids." I still love Dum Dums, although I have noticed over the years that the suckers have gotten a lot smaller.

Guess you were suckered. (C'mon, ya knew it was gonna be said!) Nice review & warning. I'll avoid the Dum Dums.

I opened up my desk drawer at work today to clean it out since it's slow, and I found blue raspberry Dum Dums! I don't remember ever sticking those in my drawer. *looking around for a beagle wearing sunglasses*

Did I just hear J4A say he was giving kisses out in his office? *Grabbing my luggage, heading for NM*

Oh what a Dum Dum I am...he isn't giving out kisses anymore...he's giving everyone the Raspberries! *Dragging my luggage back into the house* I KNEW it was too good to be true!

Every time I hear of Dum Dum Lollipops I can't help but laugh. I knew a computer programmer who had every parental control available on her system at home...yes it was fail safe, or so she thought. Her son had gone to Sunday School and the teacher had reminded them to save the wrappers, some sort of project/prize for the class, and the programmer did a double take when she walked down her hall and saw what her son had brought up on the computer. He had typed in Dum Dum Suc*ers and presto was on a porn site.

Later it was funny to everyone in the church, but the teacher never found any humor in it. I think after a bit the subject was one never mentioned again.
