Popeye's Complaint - Your Eyes Will Pop!!!

Review by gwendolynsaunders2427 on 2011-10-21
REHOBOTH, DELAWARE -- This is the story to end all stories. Not the first encounter with this location. had stop going because every time was a worry. use a coupon for bogo, asked for all white meat. take-out order. Thought it would b ok because the manager was handling the filling of orders. Arrived home and what do I find?! Leg, wing, thighs!!! Oh My!! !Called and spoke to manager regarding same. Told the coupon says Leg, Wing, Thigh. Explained that I asked for white meat and was willing to pay, had done so in the pass. The manager got louder and louder(as if that would changes anything) Never enough unsweetened ice tea. Had to wait for 15 min for wrong order. Also, wanted spicy, did not have any readily avail. Told me it would be 15 min or more. This is during the dinner hour6:00-6:30pm. So I waited. No commentary anything given.

What a #$@@##. Why must one battle for food one is paying for? Had to ask for the other c=drink cause that come with the meal. And the chicken dip pieces... forget about it...

I go to the Seaford, De. location and there is never a problem. However, this location requires a 40min one way drive. A long way for a cluck. If I don't I get you fill in the remainder..

The answer to end all answers is to check your food before you leave the establishment and deal with any issues on site.

Very good comment NutterButter!

So I have a simple question. Who came up with the idea to name a chicken place Popeyes? Wouldn't that reflect seafood?

According to good 'ol Wikipedia the founder named his restaurant after Detective Popeye Doyle from The French Connection. The chain later adopted Popeye the Sailor Man as their mascot for marketing purposes.

Popeye makes me think of spinach. So maybe a vegetarian restaurant. Or at least something with a salad bar!
