Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Renting a Car in Moreno Valley CA - Car

Complaint
Review by ariadnesubject861 on 2011-10-21
MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA -- I have been going to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in MoReno Valley CA for the last 3yrs and this the first time I have been treating poorly.

I had made a reservation for my mother a week ago for the weekend of Oct 21-Oct 24 2011...we have been renting cars there for the past 3 yrs. This the first time we experienced terrible service.

1) The guy was the only CSR there and very rude
2) I had always used my debit card for reservation and all of a sudden I needed to go back home and get a utility bill
3) My deposit was $300 which I offered it in cash and He said NO. I felt because I am a Latina He discriminated towards me! He insisted on treating myself and my mother as if we were ignorant and have never rented cars before.

If from the very beg. He would of told me I was not going to get the car I would of been ok but He made me run around town to my bank to get a statement and back home to get a bill.

He also made me call Edison to make sure that was my place of residence and said out loud on my privacy on how much I owed on my bill. in front of a room full of customers by the way who were waiting and starting at him in disbelief ..The CSR name is Kevin...I felt he was very rude and a racist!!!!

I will never AGAIN go back to the this company for my car rentals, I would go there because I live in town and it was good for me. I don't care if I have to travel all the way to Riverside, CA to another company.

I will never come back to this office again and don't recommend
it to anyone else.

I recently rented through Enterprise and had to do everything you were asked to do to secure my rental. It is their company policy. Any decent rental agency will require the same. This has nothing to do with race and because you pulled that I have no sympathy for you. Good luck finding a company with more lax policies to fit your needs.

Based on your description, I don't see that this has anything to do with race. I think the crux of the matter is your were using a debit card, and this CSR was using standard precautions that perhaps previous CSRs at this location had not.

When you use a debit card, the only handle they have on you is your checking balance. A $500 deposit isn't going to cover much if there is damage to the car.

I first got a credit card because a rental agency refused to accept a large cash deposit.

When the CSR refused to rent based on not accepting the $300 deposit (I assume) did he give a reason?

I think the demeanor of the CSR played a huge part in this too. He could have been more discreet on the phone when discussing this persons Edison bill. Tone of voice and body language of the employee and the perception of the customer are a HUGE part of customer service.

I rent from Enterprise all the time and that is their policy. Your bill MUST be current. I don't know what they do if you have a past due balance. I guess they make you call and verify that it is current from this post. The enterprise location by me, doesn't accept cash in any form. Not even as a final payment.
