Ikea Complaint - Help?
WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA -- I purchased a crib for my grandchild at IKEA and am extremely disappointed with my experience. I was required to walk aimlessly through the entire maze of multiple showroom displays to find the area I needed. Once, there I could find no one to help me or direct me. When I did ask for assistance, I was treated rudely, as if I was disturbing the person I encountered. When I did at last get a printout of my desired items and was directed to the self help warehouse, I was again placed at the mercy of the showroom maze, with stairs, elevators and long distances to be traversed. In the warehouse, I was alone, and required to load a bulky box weighing at least 50 lbs. with no assistance onto a cart with no brakes to hold it in place while I loaded the crib onto it. When I got one end of the crib on the cart, the cart would roll out from under the load and I was forced to pick the crib up off the floor again and again until I was finally able to get it stabilized on the cart. Again, as I looked around, I saw no one to assist me. I was alone in the warehouse. I finally got the cart to the checkout counter, after again following the directions through one more maze of discounted merchandise.
Finally, I had to traverse a long distance with no assistance, down an elevator, to the loading area. Again, with no assistance, I had to leave my cart unattended on the curb blocked so as to prevent my pushing the cart to my car. I then had to get my car, bring it to the loading area, and without help in sight, finally load my crib into the car. A nightmare. Will I be back? What do you think?
