Dish Network Complaint - Thank god I kept my Netflix account!
ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I've been a Dish Network customer for over 10 years, and I have the Premium package. I just recently found out about Dish On Demand and Blockbuster on Demand so I upgraded my receiver so that I could watch my favorite shows.
Firstly, the receivers ARE NOT WIRELESS and in order for me to use the Dish on Demand features I would either have to use an Ethernet cable or attach a wireless USB.
Dish Network's website sells a Cisco wireless USB, and if you order from their site you get 10% off the purchase price. So I ordered the wireless USB, and when I plugged it to the receiver my TV screen says "THIS HARDWARE IS NOT SUPPORTED"!!!!! I was flabbergasted!! So I call customer service and she said this was a software issue and she couldn't assist me. She stated that Dish Network uses a particular wireless USB and could buy from them for $25. I asked why does Dish Network's website sell the wireless USB I ordered if it isn't supported with their equipment? She said she didn't know and left it at that. Conclusion: I bought the wireless USB from for $25, and returned the other. Not only did they charge me $25 for their mistake of advertising an incompatible wireless USB on their site BUT it was also 2 weeks of high stress to finally get to use the Dish On Demand feature.......
Which comes to my second complaint: the shows that are offered by Dish Network are shows that I've NEVER heard of (and I'm a TV junkie!). A lot of them are Spanish or Latin American programs. Their movie selection stinks also.
