Super 8 Motel Complaint - Unsanitary - Room
Room - Complaint
MERRILVILLE, INDIANA -- Guests beware! my husband and I stayed one night at the merrilville, ind. Super 8 this month, we had ask for a room with 2 double beds, as we were settling in we undid one of the beds, to my surprise under the sheets I uncover used tissue, this was so disgusting and so unsanitary that we called the front office and spoke to a lady by the name of Linda, she came to our room and picked up the disgusting tissues and said "would you like to sleep in alittle later" my husband said "no, we are leaving early in the morning". an hour and a half later(around 10:00 pm) are phone rang, and Linda said"would you like your money back, so you can find another motel", I said "NO" its late and we are not about to look for another motel, she did not offer are money back and say we can stay there, she did not say, we could put you in another room, or even said we will redo your bed. So, we did not get the 2 beds we wanted, or a full refund, or another room, or even a clean bed, it makes me think how many other rooms don't really get clean sheets. We put a complaint against the general manager(Kishor Patel), but he refused to give us back our money, so we contacted the corporate Office, and all they could do is give us back Half of what we pay. We are very disappointed, and we will never go back to a Super 8 motel especially the one in Merrillville, Ind.

Did you ask for any of the things you are complaining about not getting? It seems like she tried to satisfy you, but you were hoping for more than she was offering. I would have asked her straight up to have someone come change the sheets, and watch them do it. You don't get a free room for having a tissue in your bed and not asking to have it changed out. Be assertive, not passive-aggressive.

You discovered a used tissue in your bed and the first response was to ask if you wanted to sleep in a little later? I would have been p*ssed, too.
You shouldn't have had to ask for someone to come up and change the bedding, that was a no-brainer. All these so called economy motels that really aren't that much cheaper than many hotels need to step up their game. Good review.

I've got to definitely side with NutterButter on this one. They offered a full refund that night. You chose to stay. By you're own admission, you didn't request anything further. Frankly, I'm disappointed they would "buckle" after all of that and even offer half your money back.

If you stayed, I don't think it would be right that it be totally free. A 50% discount sounds about right.
