Billingsley's Complaint - Horrid Staff & Service, The Worst
WEST LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- Billingsley's Restaurant
11326 Pico Boulevard
West Los Angeles, California
Sheer & utter discrimination. Awful service, rudeness, very "clickish." After living in a nearby upscale community since 1969, I decided to finally visit this restaurant today. "Art" the bartender was friendly, warm and kind - an older male. I had a drink & was reviewing the menu, hungry - just as I was about to order some food.... some male, brunette, bearded Jack-A** comes in with a hefty blonde woman and sits across from me. He picks his nose with his bare finger, glaring at me while doing so. The Jack-A** kept rubbing & picking at his nose, continuing to glare at me. "Art" the bartender, was good friends with this man and paid no attention to his gross display. "Art" joked and kidded around with the gross adult male. I complained to "Art" about this man and he laughed and said "oh, he's alright, he's my friend." "Art" then, became rude towards me.
"Art" asked the couple next to me if they wished for another drink.
They responded, "No."
He ignored the fact that I may have wanted another or wished to finally order.... (which I was not going to anymore, thanks to Jack A**, hostile nose picker - still glaring at me.)
I did not order food and asked for my bill.
"Art" did not thank me nor did he smile at me, as he did when I arrived at the restaurant.... his demeanor having changed after the Jack A**, his friend, showed up picking his nose and making a great display at me of inappropriate conduct.
I've never seen any of these people before.
I've never been to this restaurant before.
I was dressed very conservatively & nicely, my hair was even skun in a bun.
This is either a "dirty cop" hangout or "dirty entertainment industry" hangout.
This kind of harassment has driven 4 friends of mine to commit suicide, one of which was of royalty in a foreign country long ago.
American's are growing uglier and uglier.
I recommend putting this restaurant on your "watch-out-for discrimination" target list.
And for the record : I am a white, all-American female.
USA doesn't have room for restaurants that are run for and by Jack A***s.
When I called later that night to get the name of the owner - I was met with hostility, a vulgar attitude, rudeness and an academy award winning phony display by the assistant manager acting as though I were being rude towards him - I was not. He said, "Ma'am, I don't like your tone !!"
I had no tone, I was merely asking for the owners name.
It's listed at the top of this review.
I've heard, but am not sure - that this is known undercover cop hangout, where gossip prevails.
As a result of today's dining experience, I cannot recommend Billingsley's Restaurant to anybody, even one with a cast-iron stomach.
My family had 800 employees at a respected business just a mile up the road as of last year and I will be sure to e-mail each and every one of them of my experience at Billignsley's, to ensure they stay away from this discriminatory and dirty restaurant.
