SmokeSign.com Complaint - Terrible Service!
GPW, MICHIGAN -- First off, let me state that I did receive the item I ordered. The item, packaging, and price were all fine. It took almost three weeks to get here, though - even though I live only 200 miles from the business. But slow shipping is not my major gripe.
I received no correspondence from these folks at all, except for an automated receipt generated by Yahoo Shopping the day of the transaction. 9 days went by and I had not received the item. So, I sent an e-mail to the company asking for a shipping update, or status of my order. No reply. Another 5 days go by, still no shipment. Sent another e-mail, no reply. Found another e-mail address for the company, sent a letter to that address as well. No reply. At this point I had enough, so I went to SmokeSign's website and tried to cancel the order. No dice - there's no provision on the site to either track orders, receive updates, or cancel a shipment. This was beginning to look like a scam.
I let another 6 days go by, then decided to contact my credit card issuer and charge back the payment. Lo and behold, the item arrived that very morning. No explanation why it took so long, or why nobody bothered answering my inquiries.
This is the worst service from an online company I've ever experienced. I'm thankful it worked out in the end, but feel that I should warn others about this couldn't-care-less outfit. There are many complaints filed against this business, check it out before you buy - at your own risk. Although they are listed with the BBB, they are not a certified member. Check out the number of complaints received, and you'll see why.
