Fashion Food DBA Wendy's Old Fashioned hamburgers Complaint - Dave Thomas is turning over in his grave!!!

Review by dariusmherber83 on 2011-10-27
ORLEANS, MASSACHUSETTS -- I worked at this establishment for over a year and have nothing good to say about it. Food is not changed out at the proper times or ever cooked to temperature, and the sanitation of the back part of the kitchen is questionable. Some managers do not adhere to basic safety guidelines during shifts such as using protective gear, and will often ask employees to do things after they have clocked out.

Communication is terrible because majority of the workers do not have even a rudimentary grasp of the English language. This is frustrating not only for the English speaking employees, but also for every single customer that walks through the door expecting to be able to actually get their order. It creates a problem with sandwiches being made correctly. I can not count the number of times that I had to have sandwiches remade for customers because of the language barrier.

Lastly, I busted my ass cooking and cleaning at Wendy's and put them down for a job reference on dozens of applications. I could not figure out why I wasn't getting call backs considering I have no criminal record. They have (for whatever reason) decided that they will no longer give me any job references, or will only give me a bad reference even though I left on good terms. The way that I know this is I had a job call me back and tell me this.

Don't eat here. Don't work here. This franchise and this store are out to screw you to the wall.

All a former employer is obligated to do is verify previous employment - - specifically that you worked at Wendy's between this date and that. Some will verify wage information and some will not. As far as a reference is concerned, it is best to decide who you want to be a reference, speak to that person to confirm and put their specific contact information on your resume or application.

If it was so terrible, why did you work there for over a year?

If you badmouthed them in public, that could be why they are refusing to give you a reference. I'm not saying you did, but it could be a reason.

To your point, Venice - from the nic used here I am afraid that if that ship hasn't already sailed it has now.
