ProComp Tires Informative - ProComp All Terrain Tires

Review by ChuhBaca on 2011-10-28
I wanted to put this out there because I don't feel that there is adequate information when trying to find the best tires for your truck or SUV. Individuals have different needs based on personal use and where you live.

I live in Colorado where we get some snow and icy conditions. We don't get enough (IMO) to get dedicated snow and ice tires, though. I use my truck for commuting in the colder weather, I use it to haul stuff, I love to take it on 4 wheel trails (not extreme, but definitely need 4-Low and the extra clearance). So, I wanted a tire that looks good, does well off-road in the summer, and is respectable in the winter.

Well, I have to say that from the time I put these tires on until now (30k miles later) they have been disappointing. They are severe-weather rated, but were not as good as the stock tires in deep snow, ice, and snow pack. Even on wet roads, it's pretty easy to break traction. They also ride fairly rough. So, I would recommend that you not chose the ProComp AllTerrains if you live where road conditions can be wet, snow, or icy. I don't know about the other tires in their line.
