Patty Peck Honda Complaint - Neglect - Oil Change, Transmission Change, General Information.

Review by lsplain18124 on 2011-10-28
RIDGELAND, MISSISSIPPI -- Had been going to this dealership several years for oil changesn never told me about changing the transmission fluid, until car had 130.000 miles on it, then changed it recently, did not go by the manual, 2 weeks later car started acting up bad, slipping out of gear, I now need a transmission. changed oil several months ago, did not check my battery, car quit later on, battery acid was all under hood, hole in battery, said it was dirt under hood-it was acid from the hole in the battery. when I need them to check for my repair recently, instead of telling me the problem, the first thing they said was would you want to trade it in-not worth in dollars what I was going to have to fix it-that cetainly was out of line and not professional.

I don't know about Honda, but volvo has never recommended that the tranny fluid be changed.

This is a major issue with Volvos - turns out that it needs to be changed on both my '98 and '05 cars about every 50K miles, or I can pretty much plan to replace the tranny (!).

You would think that after lots of people had tranny problems with the '93-'98 cars, that by '05 Volvo would come up with a warning or recommended change interval. Maybe Honda ignores this too...
