L G Complaint - Refrigerator has malfunction on ice maker

We purchased all new appliances for our new home. My husband insisted on LG due to the product name. Supposedly the best. The refrigerator has been nothing but a problem since the day we plugged it in. The ice maker constantly freezes up and has to be removed from the freezer and thawed out. The inside of the refrigerator is plastic and very flimsy. We are in our 50s and its just the two of us. We know how to take care of our appliances, this refrigerator is just a big disappointment to us. Never will buy Lg refrigerator again.

Unfortunately, there is no "best". Buying appliances is a crap shoot. There is only so much the consumer can due to make sure they get a decent product. It's hard to tell if the design/quality is good until you actually use the appliance. And by then it's too late.

I hope you are less disappointed with the rest of your LG appliances.

The best assumption is that the ice is thawing ever so slightly and then refreezing, causing the augur and dispensing unit to jam. L.G. makes some really good appliances and I can tell you this isn't a common problem with their units. If it's within the first year, definitely contact an authorized service center to fix the unit. If you have an extended warranty you'll, of course, want to work with the warranty provider. In any case, it's worth getting checked out. It should be something relatively easy to solve.
