Sears Complaint - Ice Maker on new refrigerator
FLINT, MICHIGAN -- I purchased a new refrigerator from Sears in April 2011 and I also purchased an extended warranty. The ice maker worked approximately 2 weeks then stopped. I contact Sears they came out and told me that there was not enough water pressure as the water to the refrigerator goes through a reverse osmosis system which is filtered and the refrigerator itself has a filter. They told me to contact the manufacturer and have them send me a dummy filter which will help with the water pressure. I did and then the ice maker worked for approximately another week. I called Sears again and they stated that they will not come out if the water pressure is not high enough. I then contacted the omosis dealer and he stated that all I need to do is put 10 lbs pressure in the bladder and that will take care of it. That was done and it worked for only about 3 days this time. I cannot disconnect the omosis system as we have high levels of arsenic and this has a special filter for that. I don't know what to do. Sears will charge me to come out if it is the water pressure and the osmosis system says it should be ok.
I think it is the refrigerator as it worked but then stopped making ice. My other refrigerator never had this issue.
