Wal Mart Complaint - Grocery Shelves Bare And No Cashiers

Review by garvin3carol48 on 2011-11-04
S. ATTLEBORO, MASSACHUSETTS -- While doing my weekly shopping on thurs. nov.3rd. I found the shelves were bare. could not do a full weeks shopping as they had nothing to buy on the shelves. hate having to go to another store to find items not available at Wal-Mart. Got to register and stood in line forever just to check out. Not enough cashiers.
Very annoying!!!!!

I wonder if this has something to do with the huge storm that hit last weekend.

We got hit hard here in New York, but the shelves where I shop were fully stocked. I guess it's possible though.

At my Wegmans, the shelves are always stocked and there are CSR's running around everywhere. When a line gets to 3 deep, a person runs out and tells you to go to a new lane where a CSR opens it up.

And guess what? The prices aren't that much higher - about 0 to 5% depending on item. It's a case of you get what you pay for, in my opinion.

Similar issue at my Wal-Mart in California. Empty shelves. On my last trip, I went for the sole purpose of picking up the Lion King on Blu-Ray because they advertised a free Calendar with it that I wanted for the nursery. At close to 5pm on a Tuesday evening, they hadn't even put out the new movie releases for the day! After wandering around thinking I was too blind to see it, I finally asked an employee who said they hadn't put them out yet and retrieved one from a box on the floor!

since there was a severe weather event recently, this seems like an isolated issue. do not give up on walmart since the weather perhaps was the reason.

I agree a 100% madc.

Sometimes, those empty shelves are courtesy of those extreme coupon people who run around with binders full of coupons and store circulars trying to get $1000 worth of food for a buck.
