State Farm Auto Insurance Complaint - Be warned - Auto Insurance

Review by lookitupitup35 on 2011-11-07
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- This is what happened to an acquaintance of mine. After being a loyal and accident free customer for over 40 years, State Farm denied that she suffered a neck injury and TMJ as the result of being rear ended by an uninsured driver. It would cost as much to fight the case as to settle for about $10,000 less than the usual for this type of injury. State Farm spent more on their attorney, IME, deposition, and mediation than they paid to their injured insured. Their attorney drove away from mediation in a new Porche. Be warned. I told her about my insurance company, Amica.

Never heard of your company and not interested. How do you know that IF you were hit by an uninsured driver that it would treat you better than SF?

Did this associate of yours have sufficient uninsured driver insurance? That could be the problem.

I've been with State Farm since 1979 and love them. Of course I never had my neck injured.

Yes, Amica Mutual is rated near the top of all insurers, and State Farm near the bottom, so this is certainly no surprise.

I have State Farm and have been in similar circumstances, my agent has always been very aggressive in fairly compensating me for my claims and with very little effort on my part. I can't see myself with any other company; perhaps you need to shop for a new agent.

If your friend has been a customer for 40 years that means she is older. The trouble with soft tissue injuries like the neck in older persons is the difficulty in sorting out prior limitations from the damages arising from this accident, as well as questions such as valuing future loss wages and other damages based on lifespan.

I too can stand in support of SF. My wife recently had a altercation in the parking lot of the local high school. The other person was insured by AAA who has more than once told me their limitations in coverage which included simple towing charges. I turned the incident over to my SF agent have had nothing but superb service as expected.
