Ford Motor Company Complaint - Poor Design Of 2011 F250 S/D Truck Beds
I just bought a 2011 F250 S/D from Leo Kaytes of Warwick, NY. Paid $45,000 after rebates. Put on a Tonnou cover loaded my suite cases and headed to the state of Florida. On my way back hit 2 days of rain. I finally got home unloaded my stuff and everything is wet and I have a pound of sand in the bed. Ford now makes a cheap 2 piece bed. You have the wheel wells and sides and then you have a strip in the center which they only spot weld. So technically the only support is the center piece bolted to frame. Now with it only being spot welded it leaves a gap that you can see daylight though for water, salt, sand and dirt to get in. Well ford says it to breathe if you have a bed liner in. Me, I think its a crock. But what if you don't have a liner? Ford says tough you paid us deal with it. And won't fix or add a bed liner.
Second, the molding around the doors doesn't carry the water. It goes over them and right in the window onto the electrical window and mirror controls.
And third, this is funny. A superduty extended cab truck with no interior dome. Ford says its an option. Are you freaking kidding me!!! I guess for a $50,000 truck you have to use a flashlight. And I'm not even gonna go into half the underside parts of the truck are not painted and already rusty. But they did brag about the sync system. What a joke. Buyer beware. Don't buy from Leo Kaytes in Warwick, NY won't even make an attempt to help! And Ford needs to stand up and fix these issues.
