Frigidaire Complaint - Frigidaire Products worthless
BILLINGS, MONTANTA -- Four years ago I purchased a very high end Frigidaire washer and dryer(don't even remember the model now) I had this set less than 2 years before the dryer went out. I had purchased a extended warranty on the set and because the dryer could not be fixed I was sent a gift card in the amount of the original dryer, but only good on Frigidaire products. Within six months the washer had severe problems too. Once again I was sent a gift card for the price of the original washer. I used the gift cards to purchase a brand new washer dryer set. Because the gift cards were only for the purchase of a new Frigidaire set I purchased a new Frigidaire set. I also purchased a extended warranty.
The day after the extended warranty ran out the dryer began to have problems. First I replaced the heating element, than the belt, than the drum guide. Than one day I turned it on and it smoked and screeched the drum fell off tore all the wires off from inside and even tore metal. Destroyed all the clothing inside the dryer. This stupid dryer started a fire in my laundry room because it shorted out when it tore all the wires. The dryer was a major fire hazard.
When I contacted Frigidaire to let them know I was a very displeased customer. I was told to send them pictures of the dryer damage, copies of the invoices of repairs I had done and they would take care of the problem. I even sent them a letter from the fire marshal that stated that the minor fire the dryer started was caused by a manufacturer defect in the product They led me to believe they would replace/repair the dryer because the damage occurred within one week of the warranty ending. After getting everything they sent me a nice long letter informing me that because the warranty had expired it was obviously my fault that the dryer had problems and if I would have properly maintained the product this would not have happened.
Since when does one of the major companies that sells appliances have appliances that don't even last two years? It's not like I have a thousand dollars to fork out every two years on a new washer and dryer. Now the washer's warranty is coming up. Think I'm going to cut my loses now and go buy a new washer dryer set and believe me it won't be Frigidaire.
