Hewlett Packard Complaint - Hewlett Packard Money Pit
NEW YORK -- Overall the customer service at H. P. is pretty mediocre but that is no surprise in today's market. I have gotten tech reps on the phone that I literally could not understand and was refused when I requested another representative I had to call back which is another 20 minutes of prompts and waiting. My real complaint today is much more specific. In case folks out there are not already aware Windows Vista is officially obsolete and is not compatible with a lot of upgrades now out there. I continually got the hard sell from HP to buy Windows 7. Even before this I had purchased an extended in-home warranty. It is a long story here so I will bottom line it. Once I purchased the Windows 7 I was told that installing it would void my warrant!!! Not that their tech support is really any good, but what a rip-off. I have signed up with Cyberdefender where everyone speaks English as their first language and are much easier to get in touch with. If I had been told that my latest purchase would void a previous one I would never had upgraded, I would have just muddled through with Vista. By the way...upgrading to Windows 7 has done nothing to improve the quality of my internet experience as promised. I can not wait until I can afford to take a hammer to my HP desktop and buy something reliable.
