Abercrombie And Fitch Complaint - The Rude And Obnoxious Manager

Complaint
Review by wranzato256 on 2011-11-27
WEST NYACK, NEW YORK -- The line was 40 people strong, and there were two empty registers. I asked the store manager, Chris to open the other two. He refused, and said it wasn't his job. He had at least 7 other employees folding shirts and still refused to get on a register himself and help the now 50 customers wanting to purchase goods. Half walked out. Its clear why Abercrombies stock is falling, no matter what the product, consumers will not be abused in order to spend their hard earned cash.

Those who were folding shirts may not have been trained for cashier and they wouldn't be able to just take somone from the floor because they would need codes to sign onto the registers.
As a manager, if this was on Black Friday, he should have made a schedule for all registers to be open, if he had enough to cover them.

Some stores hire seasonal employees to keep the floor clean. They are not register trained. Sounds like these may have been seasonal employees. Managers don't usually work the registers. They have to keep an eye on the other employees to make sure that they are doing their job

I am wiling to bet if Chris had run a register himself, then complaints would pop up saying someone needed a manager for something but he was too busy running a register.

I think in light of the fact that there were 40-50 people in line waiting for a register, the manager could have jumped on for a few minutes and helped clear some of the backlog.

Exactly Raven. Managers have to be available for customers as well as employees. They can't be available if they are on the registers all day.

Tis the season to be jolly.

I'd be interested to see how many people A and F have in their employ to deflect online criticism where they are getting ripped to shreds from customers who are sick of being ABUSED. Yes, I said abused. They'll never see another penny from me. And my kids will not shop there or at any of their partner stores ever again.
