Cape Ann Audio Complaint - Unreasonable policy - Yamaha RX770 stereo receiver

Yamaha RX770 stereo receiver - Complaint
Review by william.0328133 on 2011-11-27
EBAY, MASSACHUSETTS -- I made the mistake of asking a question to clarify a small point. His reply was over the top, rude and tried to be intimidating. When I attempted to bid on the item, despite his poor attitude, he had blocked me from bidding. The Ebay auction is # 110775427415, and the text of my question and his reply are what follows:
Dear ...,

"Is the remote functioning properly" ???? Which part of "Flawless Operation & Performance" do you NOT understand???? Have you read our feedback??????

Dear capeannaudio,

Hi,
I can't find the link at the Yamaha site for the manual download. Do you have any idea how old this unit is?

Is the remote functioning properly?

Thanks.

Cape Ann Audio receives very similar complaints every few months or so. Thus, it is very predictable. The last time I looked at his auctions, he pretty much warns you about what to expect if you ask him questions.

I'm not saying that his way of doing business is nice, but he does seem to do fine selling on his own terms.

My Yamaha RX770 was purchased new in 1994 for $499.88.
I've never bought electronics on eBay (I only deal with the same single-store, local retailer that I've purchased from for the last 34 years), but I have bought lots of antiques. Along the way I've come across several sellers with attitudes like your Cape Ann Audio, and I have had some pretty incredible experiences with them, but somehow they never get booted from eBay. I just don't get it!
I'm on the internet searching for an adaptor to connect a 75-ohm coax cable to the FM antenna input. Yamaha uses some kind of different configuration altogether for its connector.
