EZ Car Rental Complaint - Poor customer service and small print charges.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I needed to rent a car for a recent trip and needed a low cost rental. I chose EZ Car Rental because of their low rates and airport shuttle to rental car facility that was located waway from the airport. I made my reservation through Travelocity and had a confirmation number. When I arrived at their counter I was informed that they did not have a car in the class that I reserved, but could upgrade me to a mid size for just $10.00 per day extra, I declined their offer and asked for a manager. I was told he was conveniently off the premises at that time. I told the girl at the counter I would just wait for my reservation. They amazingly had me a car in 15 minutes. I wonder how many times a day they pull this trick on customers.

When I renturned my car I was 45 minutes late due to traffic and taking the wrong exit. I was informed I had to pay a late return fee that was more than the daily rental rate I paid for the car.

Pay the extra money and rent from the big companies, its worth it not to deal with this company. If I had rented from Enterprise or Hertz I would have actually paid less due to the late fee situation.

I rent from Hertz and, as you mentioned, I may actually be saving time and money in the long run. I do know, though, that I haven't had any problems with them in many years so I'll stick with them as long as they continue to give me good service.
