TreeClassics.Com Complaint - TreeClassics.Com is Using False Advertising

Review by DianFranc41 on 2011-11-28
Fellow Consumers, please be aware! As the previous reviewer indicated TreeClassics. Com is NOT the same quality company that built a fine reputation. It had to file for bankruptcy in early 2011 and its name and assets were purchased by a new company. HOWEVER, they are using advertising from the OLD company on its website from the Chicago Tribune: "Tree Classics is Recognized as the Top-Shelf Brand for Trees.” That was for the OLD company, NOT the new company. Customer service is NON-EXISTENT with the new company. Please help get the word out and check out your vendors!

I am not sure I agree.

The company that bought the TCI *assets* got the brand name.

The *liabilities* of TCI remain with the old company that declared bankrutpcy, which seems to include returns and warranty support for trees purchased prior to the sale.

I am not a lawyer, but logically it makes sense that the Tribune statement can continue to be used on the brand. It is important for customers to know the management has changed, however.

Now, what bad experience did you have with the NEW company? I assume it was about a tree that was purchased after the sale of the company's assets?
