Time Warner Cable Complaint - Digital Phone & Cable Tv Bill Near $150.00 Per Month Is Devastating To A Senior Couple. Help !!!

Review by alvintinberga36 on 2011-11-29
SMITHVILLE, TEXAS -- Title of our review should be self explanatory. We are a couple that is too busy with Church activities to watch much T V. And the phone service. actually is secondary as we use cell phones mostly. Is the Corporate greed getting so powerful in this country that poor Senior citizens are strapped financially like we are.

Complain to Time Warner and they threaten to disconnect service. Where can we turn ?

Can you cancel your phone and maybe cut your TV down to a cheaper package? You said it yourself that you mostly use cell phones and don't watch TV.

You beat me to it, clutzy. We switched companies for phone and internet, and downgraded cable for a variety of reasons. We cut the bill in half. Why pay for services that are rarely used?

We have the super basic cable package and HSI through comcast. Our cells are with T-Mobile and we also have a VOIP phone with them for an extra $5 a month. Our cell bill is a little pricey but we have a data plan for our cells.

As others have already commented...why feel pressured into having a bundle package that you rarely use? Cellphones have all but replaced the traditional land-line, and for busy folks such as yourselves, I would recommend the cheapest basic package available. It is usually just your basic everyday channels without all the bells and whistles. If you get in the mood for a movie now and then, sidestep HBO, Cinemax, etc...and just go rent a movie from the local store. Much cheaper and worth your time and money. Best of luck!
