Best Buy Complaint - Was lied to by a Best Buy sales associate regarding an activation fee
Resolution Update on 12/05/2011:
Best Buy finally credited back the activation charges.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA -- My husband and I each bought an IPAD 2 for Verizon from the Best Buy in Charlottesville, Virginia. While we were setting up the service for the IPADs the screen showed a $35 activation fee. I told the associate that I wouldn't pay an activation fee and we would just get the IPAD with wifi only. The associate told us that it was just showing an activation fee but it wouldn't actually get charged on our bill because there was no activation fee, the $35 was just showing on their system. I get my Verizon bill and sure enough there were two $35 activation fees. I called Verizon, who in turn called the store and talked with the Manager. The Manager told the Verizon associate they didn't have any deals to waive that fee. The associate at Verizon offered to waive one of the fees "because we were a valued customer" but of course I'm not getting any help from Best Buy with the remaining fee. Just keep getting the run around, someone will call, blah, blah, blah...... Beware, Best Buy only cares about the sale, not the customer!
