Complaint
Review by maria_olah25 on 2011-11-30
ELGIN -- I had ordered onlline the Hydroxatone and Juveneu anti wrinkle cream, gave all my details away and been charged far more than it was advetised!!! Plus, the company took money twice off my account!!! very disappointed and don't know what to do...tried to call customer service and get a'live chat' with them but its impossible....! The cream doesn't do that 'magic' on the face as it seemed!!! tried it out, used it for a whole month...and no result at all! Very angry and disapointed!

Maria, you only need to submit your review to us once, the other 10 have been deleted. You may have thought your review wasn't posting and tried resubmitting it, but it just goes through a review before posting.

Did they send you more product or just charged you twice for the same shipment?

maria_olah25 this system can be a little un-forgiving. no need to worry how many times you posted, all is good in the end!!

i found this review very helpful!!

Maria, you agreed to an autoship program (it was in the very fine print). About all you can do now is try to send it back to where ever it came from, file a chargeback and replace the credit card you used. They will keep hitting that CC for money as long as they can.

The people that run these scams are crooks and are very good at taking peoples money. You're not the first and will not be the last to get ripped off by these types of crooks.

It amazes me that people are still falling for this. With the tiniest bit of research, you would have known not to get involved with this company. There are countless complaints on this site alone. The only option at this point is to cancel your card.

If you want to try the products again, buy them from Home Shopping Network. You will only be charged for what you order and can return it within 30 days for a full refund. There are no automatic shipments or charges to your credit card. It's the safest way to buy these products. If you're less aggravated, you might find that you actually like the products. I haven't tried them myself, but they've gotten some good reviews.

I agree with Venice's sentiment. In this day and age, with internet access so widespread and so much information available, it is easier to avoid being the victim of such a scam but it takes some research.

Let's say I see an ad for this product, and I say "my gosh, I have to try that." So I go to the internet and type "hydroxatone" to see what happened when others tried it {pardon me...}

On the first page of results, nothing appears amiss. There is a 3/5 rating at Amazon, with only 13 reviews (!). The bad ones are really bad, and one says a lawsuit was filed in August against the company. People report using the product for 6 months with no results. Of course the company says it takes 6-8 weeks to see any.

{looks further} pages of links that appear to be resellers/advertisers. Based on a few Amazon complaints, I type in "hydroxatone complaint" and it still takes a few pages to find complaints. One hit is the BBB file on Hydroxatone. 1200+ complaints (!), for advertising, product and refunds. And they have an A- rating and they are NOT an accredited company.

What all this says to me is a lot of people don't find the product useful, and the company maintains a good BBB rating by following through on giving those who take the trouble to complain refunds.

If you do use a product like this, make sure to know the return/billing policy. If you feel they didn't meet their terms, complain to the BBB in this case - reason being, this company obviously responds to them.

You should always do your research before giving your credit card number to ANY company. You are now enrolled in their monthly automatic shipping, even though you hate the product.

If this product worked so well, it would be sold in stores. Also, watch those commercials, they have a disclaimer the people advertising it are not actual users. They are models and they don't even use this non-miracle product.

Sorry you had to learn the hard way, because this company is running a scam on unsuspecting individuals who think this cream will turn back the hands of time.

Read the terms and conditions on their site and follow the cancellation procedure you will find there. It is always a good idea to read the terms, privacy policy, and FAQ's page before agreeing to anything.

Really glad I came on this site before ordering hydroxatone. Now, of course, I won't order after reading the complaint reviews. HOWEVER, I would like to point out to my fellow lady users that the only 2 TRANSDERMAL medications in existance, are estrogen and the nicotine patch. This means that, actually, there are NO face creams or products that can make a difference to your skin because they simply cannot get through your skin surface....I was kind of hoping that hydroxatone could, but it doesn't sound like it, so I will continue to use natural fruit pulp for a great skin cleansing, exfoliating and brightening...works wonders and xero cost.just use the pulp of whatever fruit you just ate (peaches, apricots, kiwi etc..are great)...let dry for 10 minutes, then wash off....good luck
