Brookstone Complaint - Ruined Christmas - 7 ft. prelit White Christmas Tree

I purchased a white pre lit Christmas Tree from Brookstone and when it arrived, the lights didn't work. Called to have it sent back and was assured we would get another. I decided to call and check delivery status after several weeks, and was told the replacement was never ordered. The new tree would not make it by Christmas. After asking for expediited shipping, I was then told the tree was discontinued. No one ever bothered to call and update me with the status. Had I not called, I would have never known.

Thanks Brookstone, for lousy customer service

That really is lousy customer service. I don't blame you for being annoyed. I hope you at least got a refund.

Excellent complaint! Nothing worse than when we fellow consumers are the ones feeling forced to follow-up. It should be the exact opposite, where the business is the one making the courtesy phone calls to at least give us an answer. Even if it's not always the answer we want to hear, at the very least it gives us some sense of relief or peace of mind that they are working on trying to resolve the problem. Again, good review!

Total agreement with above. I recall someone once said, "Industry will police itself." (or something to that effect). No, it won't. Not unless you watch it like a hawk and convince it that it'll cost money if it doesn't.
