Spy Net Compliment - Night Vision Goggles are too cool
A friend of mine tells me the economy is going to collapse, leading to marauding groups of people taking things for their own survival. Whether he truly believes this or not, I do not know, but I know he at least offers the appearance of planning for such an event.
A week or so ago, Woot was selling Spy Net Night Vision Goggles for a very reasonable price (around $30). I bought a set for my friend and for myself. (I like toys.)
Well, this is much more than a toy. I was shocked at how well these goggles work.
In complete darkness, I can see everything with quite a bit of clarity. If I stand in front of my bookcase, I can read titles. It's almost as good as a flashlight--but better if I am trying to keep my presence quiet. (The box says they have range of 50 feet.)
It even records what I am watching, both as video and photos.
The focus, in particular, is nice--easy to turn and really gives a fine tune to what you are looking at.
If you have any gadget-crazed kids on your Christmas list this year, and want to offer something different from everything else that begins with an "i" or is connected to a phone, this is simply a cool thing. And it delivers what it promises.
When the banks collapse and money is scarce and I need to sit in the dark to watch for marauding throngs of maniacs roaming about, I'll be ready! Thank you, Spy Net!
