Sprint Cell Phone Complaint - Only Business accounts can charge phones!
DULUTH, GEORGIA -- We have been a Sprint customer for over a decade, with 5 phones on our plan, and perfect credit record. One phone is not working out, and we were willing to pay to change to another model. We specifically went to a company store so that we could put the new phone on our account. After selecting a phone, we were told that the company policy had changed in September and that individuals were no longer allowed to charge phones to their accounts - only accessories. To be a business account you have to qualify for a minimum of 30 phones.
As the user of the phone to be changed, I was a little upset. I had driven an hour to the "company" store, was willing to downgrade my phone and pay $200 + dollars for the privilege in hopes that it would not drop calls, that people could hear me, and that my essential tremor would be better served by another model.
The staff was friendly enough, but unable to make any allowances as this is a very "firm" policy with no exceptions.
Do you think that the company is in such dire straits that it can't afford to trust their most loyal customers to pay their bills? If not us, then who? Makes me wonder about their stability.
Would it have been too difficult to notify us about this policy change? Driving 2 hours to and from the store plus another hour in the store, the cost of gas and the nonchalant attitude of the manager made the entire non-transaction insulting and irritating.
