James Toyota Complaint - Remote Start Run Around: 2012 Toyota Highlander

FLEMINGTON, NEW JERSEY -- A few days before Thanksgiving 2011, my wife and I bought a new 2012 Toyota Highlander from James Toyota.

The price that we bought the car for was very competitive.

But, the remote start on the car that we paid for was not installed.

So, I walked down to service to have the remote start scheduled for installation. The service people said that they would talk with the sales person and order the part and they would get back to me.

Anyway, two weeks later, my wife and I called by phone and were told that the part is not in stock, and to talk to our salesperson (more or less nothing has been done in two weeks).

While I would recommend the dealership for purchasing the car, I would not recommend the dealership for accessories (at least remote starts), as the coordination between sales and service could be improved.

Did you talk to your Salesperson? Sounds to me like his/her lack of follow up is what caused this issue. If it was to be done on a "we owe" basis, the Salesperson should have followed through on ensuring the installation was scheduled in a timely fashion.
