Walmart Complaint - Danskin Now Running Shoes Fall Apart After A Few Months Of Wear
UPLAND, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased black Danskin Now running shoes about 4 months ago @ Walmart in Upland, CA. They were nice looking and very comfortable, which is important to me as a career teacher for UEI College, where I teach medical billing & coding. I am on my feet many days for over 8 hours and I also used these shoes @ Fitness 19 on the recumbant bicycle, StairMaster and elyptical machines.
One day last week as I walked from the classroom through the hall to the elevator, my right shoe split open on the bottom and I almost fell to the floor. I had sprained my right ankle badly in 2009 and went through months of physical therapy and had custom orthodics made, so I was very disturbed by this event.
When I went to Walmart in Upland today to exchange my defective shoes with another pair of Danskin Now shoes, I was told by "Customer Service" that because I had purchased the shoes more than 90 days ago, I would have to deal with the manufacturer myself. So I am beginning the complaint process.
I still have running shoes purchased from Big 5 many years ago, which show some wear but I can still wear them. They have never been defective.
I am very disappointed in Walmart not replacing the defective product to keep a good customer.
I am very leary of all of Walmart's products being "Made in China". Not just because of China's communist regime, and American's losing our jobs to China because we want cheap prices. I guess we get what we deserve-cheap prices and cheap, non-returnable (after 90 days), defective products.
I don't plan to buy any more running shoes from Walmart. Stores such as Big 5, Dick's, even Payless Shoes have better quality control on their products, better exchange policy when an item is defective, and great prices as well.
