Samsonite Complaint - Samsonite Does Not Stand Behind Their Advice - electrical adapter

DILLON, COLORADO -- I went to the Samsonite store in Dillon, CO and asked the manager what adapter I needed to travel through Hungary, SlovaKia, and Poland. I purchased the adapter she recommended. It worked fine in Hungary (first stop), but I was annoyed to find that it physically would not fit in the outlets in either SlovaKia or Poland.
On returning from my trip, I went back to the Samsonite store for a refund since the adapter was the wrong one for 10 days of a 12-day trip. They refused to accept the return since the item had been opened. I wrote to Samsonite to ask for a refund; they ignored me.
Apparently Samsonite believes it can hand out erroneous advice on which customers base their sales, and then not stand behind that advice. I am particularly annoyed because I could have gone to Target for the purchase, but chose a "travel" store so I could get expert advice. That was a big misconception. From now on, it's discount stores all the way--no Samsonite products for me!

TO be honest, I wouldn't trust someone making $10/hr or so to advise me as to which adapter I could use in which country. Did they claim to be experts in this area?
