Ashley Furniture Complaint - Horrible Business - Recliner
ASHEVILLE-AIRPORT RD, NORTH CAROLINA -- Purchased a fairly high-end recliner for my wife's birthday on Nov 25. Her birthday is Dec 2. After paying we were told it could not be delivered until 12-8. Slow, but ok. It was delivered, but it would not work. It's electric (in theory), but the delivery people would not take it back. The delivery man called his store and we were assured they would call us to solve the problem. They, of course, never called. We went back to the store and talked to customer service( this is the place where they say "Sorry" but won't do anything) and were told that it would now be 12-27 before she would get her chair. Later, they called and changed that to 1-5-12. I told them that we didn't have to have that particular recliner could we just pick out a different one. Nope, only the store manager can authorize that and of course he wasn't there. Well, can we just get our money back, since you have not furnished us with a chair that we paid for, nope, only the store owner can authorize that and evidently I can't talk to him. I call what I thought was headquarters in Wisconsin, but they don't own the stores so I got another "Sorry". Once this store gets your money, good luck!
