Lowes Complaint - Lowes is a Big Time Rip Off
WILTON, NEW YORK -- I purchased a Maytag dryer at Lowes in Wilton, NY. I have not even finished paying for it yet and it already quit working. So I called the store. The store gave me a 1-888 number to call. After listening to an extensive menu, I was finally connected to someone who said I would need to call the first number I had called back again to get information he would need before helping me. I called the first number back AGAIN and was re-directed to yet another 1-888 number who then re-directed me to yet ANOTHER number! By this time I was PISSED and decided to skip Lowe's altogether and call the Maytag dealer. The dealer answered on the first ring, told me they would send a service technician out to look at it THAT DAY for $69.00 WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THE REPAIR. Now when I purchased the dryer, I was told by Lowe's that repairs would be terribly expensive so it would behoove me to purchase an extended warranty each year (for an extra one hundred plus dollars). What a RIP OFF!!! From now on I will be purchasing my appliances directly from the dealer. No more lengthy waiting or having to listen to mile long menus or getting re-directed half a dozen times or having to purchase bogus warranty extensions for me!
