Budget Car Rentals Complaint - Bait and Switch Online Budget Car Rental Scam
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- I reserved and pre-paid a Budget car via their online system in mid December. The price was too good to be true and that should've been my first clue. The online description said class 'E' and included 5 different models. When I arrived at the counter to get the car at RDU Airport, they said there are 2 levels of class 'E' and only the Chevrolet Impala was available in the rental I had made. When I questioned the counter staff person, she got indignant and very unhelpful and acted like I was a nuisance. When I asked if other vehicles were available, she said they were $10 to $15 more per day (for the exact same rental-Class that I had rented) and I said no. Then the counter staff person (Sharon) treated me like I was a virus and started being rude.
I've rented a car a month on average over the last 2 years and most have been Budget, but after this, no more Budget cars. The online rental thing is definitely bait-&-switch!!! Who ever heard of "2 levels of Class 'E'"?
