Abercrombie & Fitch Complaint - Inappropriate pictures and loud music

Complaint
Review by tsalyer69 on 2011-12-28
MISHAWAKA, INDIANA -- I was shopping with my son and nephew, both 15, over the weekend and they wanted to check out Abercrombie & Fitch. I had no idea what we were getting in to, but thank goodness I didn't have my 4 and 11 year old sons with me. First of all, there was a live male model at the entrance of the store with no shirt on and his jeans pulled down as low as possible without being completely obscene (very close, though!) As we were shopping the boys mentioned that they couldn't stand how loud the music was (& keep in mind they are normal teens who listen to loud music, so you can imagine how ridiculously loud it had to be!) Then, I started to notice the pictures and posters all over the store of partially nude people in very sexually suggestive poses (one male was completely nude and just had his arm covering the necessities). I was uncomfortable and the boys were feeling awkward as well. We left and I will not go back.....still just trying to figure out why a store that sells CLOTHES would use nude models to advertise?!?!?!?!

If his pants were covering the essentials, that's legal. Inappropriate, yes, but entirely legal. Your best way to voice your opinion is to voice it with your wallet.

Some people just like shopping for the bare necessities.

Indeed, J4A.

A&F has a long history of testing the boundries of decency. Just this past year, they introduced the "push-up triangle" padded swimsuit top for 8 to 15 year olds.

Yup, a swimsuit designed to augment the bust of 8-yr-old girls. Can't make this stuff up. Good for you for walking out.

trmn8r> Girls have been stuffing their bras since before your time...what's the difference? They're just sidestepping the box of tissue. I think that story was blown way out of proportion.

trmn8r--I read just today that there was such a protest from parents groups over the push-up triangle that it was removed, but the bottoms are still sold.

You forgot to mention the overwhelming stench of perfume and cologne.

I once went into the store because i got a christmas gift from my aunt, when i was 16. I hate ambercrombie so i was going to return it. I agree, this store does have loud music and sexual pictures and personally, i can buy clothes i like better at a dollar store for much cheaper than that crap.

I am not sensitive to smell so the powerful colong does not particurally bother me. I
