Harley Davidson V-Rod Motorcycle - Complaint
DALLAS, TEXAS -- My V-Rod was stolen. Geico paid me at about same time bike was recovered and I want to buy it back. One time I was told I would be the first chance to buy it back, then was told could buy back at auction, now being told cannot buy it back because I cashed their check. Insurance representative was in Dallas, Tx and adjuster in Des Moines Office.

Most insurers will do the same. You can not buy back your vehicle once you have cashed their check. It's kinda weird but the insurer will sell it at an auction or to a wholesaler outright (they don't even care if they lose money) and then you can buy it back from where they sell it to (for a much larger price than your insurance paid you for it). :) Oh, and don't even ask them where they sold it to because they generally don't even have a clue.
