Mercantila Complaint - Horrible Delivery Expectations and Customer Service
SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA -- The WORST Delivery Time & Customer Service Imaginable.
As I've now dived deeper into other dissatisfied reviews, I see I'm not alone. Mercantila and their manufacturing partners make it appear in the ordering process that they have their act together - good, inexpensive products, great free shipping - but nothing is done once you place your order. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time following up and trying to get someone accountable for the status of my order. What was supposed to be a surprise Christmas present of bunk beds for my 2 little girls, may arrive sometime mid January - despite me ordering with plenty of time. I've been given 4 false shipping dates, and even this last date given by the customer service manager of Mercantila - Audrey - I've been notified today was missed and it was shipped the next day. No apologies what-so-ever, and the excuses I've received range from "the product wasn't ready to ship at first" (despite the ordering site saying it was, "the shipper was asking for unexpected paperwork", "there was some confusion at pick up", etc. But nothing was explained to me proactively, it was only as I called to asked for a status. If you plan to buy through Mercantila, realize that they money you save on your order will then be spent in your time following up.
