Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - No visable damage but 808.98 in repainting charges. - Automobile rental

Automobile rental - Complaint
Review by bikrchick39 on 2012-01-03
LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA -- I was assigned a rental car as a result of a not at fault accident on Christmas day 2010. While sitting stationary in a line of traffic at a stop sign a vehicle backed into me. The bumper compressed the drivers door momentarily but it resumed shape immediately thereafter. I contacted my insurance and documented his info as well. I drove straight to the Enterprise location and reported the incident. The adjuster attempted to photograph the damage but could only see a slight rub in the door if you looked at it in a certain light. After describing the accident and providing the at fault drivers insurance information I did not hear from the adjuster until a year later. I received a letter stating that I have been found responsible for 808.98 in damages. They claim both drivers doors and mirror had to be repainted.

Since they obviously want you to pay for this, ask them for the documentation proving the need and cost of repairs. Ask for the photos that were taken too. Then go after the at fault driver in small claims court.

Good luck!
