Sears Informative - Poor customer service
DEPTFORD, NEW JERSEY -- I went here the day after Christmas to see what was on sale. I also wanted to buy a perfume with my Xmas money. I found the perfume I wanted, but there were 2 of them in 2 slightly different designed boxes. They were both on a shelf which was tagged $52, but the one box had a sticker on it which said $46, so I wanted to make sure if they were both the same thing since I didn't want to buy the wrong perfume. I asked the girl behind the counter in jewelry, which is right next to where the perfume is located. She told me to go to women's, which is the department that handles perfume. So I went to the women's service desk and the girl there said she "doesn't know because she doesn't work in perfume." I said "okay, well can I get the $46 price which is marked on it?" She said that it is ringing up for $52 on the register. I ended up just paying the $52 because $6 is not that big of a deal for an already expensive perfume. Plus, there was a line of people behind me and I didn't wanna be rude and hold up the line. I'm really not that upset about the price issue, just the lousy customer service. I've worked in retail and I would never say "I don't know, I don't work in perfume." If I didn't know, I would say something like "I apologize, I'm not sure, however let me find somebody who can help you." I was turned of Sears off from this incident. Sears needs to properly train their employees on customer service.
