Kmart Complaint - A very unpleasant experience
SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA -- I can't believe that I feel the need to sit down and write this letter. I have never had a shopping experience this unpleasant or stressful. I was like hundreds of others who wanted to kick of the holiday season by being out shopping, catching all the Early Bird specials on the day after Thanksgiving. I started my day at 3am, heading to Kmart, Springfield, VA, arriving at 4am. I had waited in my truck carefully selecting all the items I needed to pick up when the store opened at 5am. When the store opened there were less than 50 customers entering. I was sure I would be able to get the few items I ventured out to get. Boy to my suprise though, I wasn't so lucky. 1st, I headed off to sporting goods to pick up the portable basketball net. I walked all over the store trying to find it. It was not in that section of the store, it was located in one of the many main aisles. I looked for a sales associate to assist me, but not a one was to be found. Because of the size of the box & weight, it was extremely difficult for me to pick up alone and put into my cart. Another customer getting the same item, was kind enough to help me. So I was off find my next Early Bird special, Evenflo SuperSaucer. One was on display, but not one to be found in the Dept. Finally I found an associate, after about 20 minutes. She informed me that there was none in the store, I asked if I could buy the display at a discount. She informed me that they do not sell the displays. So needless to say I was a little upset. So, I was off now to find the Black Metal Desk and Chair set on Early Bird for $29.99. I looked and looked for the item and an associate to help me locate it. I couldn't find either. So, I gave up. Now getting very frustrated, I was off to find my last item. The George Foreman Party Tray w/ Bonus Grill. I was unable to locate that item also. On my venture to the register to pay for my 1 of 4 items I got up so early to get, I overheard an associate say to another customer, 'No, I am sorry we do not have that item, alot of our Early Bird specials did not come in on the truck! OMG, please explain to me how that could be!. I intended to spend approximately $ 165.00 on my trip to Kmart and probably would have spent alot more if I was not so disgusted with my experience thus far. Not only was I so stressed out and annoyed at this point, but I was unable to pick up the gifts I sent out to get during the Early Bird specials. I was there in plenty of time, and considering the amount of people there at the at time, I feel if the items were available in the store, and had associates readily available, my venture would have been accomplished and I would have been a truly satisfied customer. So I ventured off to the register to pay for my 1 item, only to find 1 of many registers open. After waiting, what seemed liked endless minutes, I finally got out of there to finish my Holiday shopping.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I would appreciate it if I could get the 3 items, at the Early Bird special prices. I believe this would only be fair.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
