Whirlpool Double Oven Stainless Steel (Gold AccuBake) - Complaint
MARYLAND -- Called Whirl in December after my oven stop working. My oven is seven years old but I have had ovens for 20 years. I asked customer service if they were having any problems with these ovens because I don't use my oven much and was surprise that the control panel when blank which means you can't use either oven. He said that he was not aware of any; however, that is hard to believe. he told me that I was eligible for a warranty on my oven for $259.00 and they could get someone out to look at my oven. They gave me a repair company name and number. I couldn't reach the company and couldn't leave a message because the message box was full. When I finally reached someone, the person did not know English very well and it was hard to communicate (very bad sign). I was immediately frustrated. When I finally talked to the repair technician, he asked me questions about the oven and told me I need a new control panel. We set an appointment but he never came out and called me to tell me that the part to repair was on backorder until the end of March.(this was late November). I called Whirlpool back and requested a full refund of my $259.00 because they were just trying to make a sale. They already knew that part was on backorder. I can't see myself buying Whirlpool products. It's my understanding that Whirlpool owns kitchenAid, Maytag, and some others, so you have to be careful to see if your product is still under Whirlpool.
