United Air Comfort Complaint - Ripoff

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- There was an ad in the local newspaper to clean air duct in entire whole house for $49. We scheduled an appointment with United Air. A 'technician' and a trainee came to our house to clean the air ducts. Once they started, they sold my roommate an extra service to clean the blower. They took the blower out and when they replace it smoke came out, most likely they connected it incorrectly and burned it.

They still charged $300 for their service (for the $49 cleaning). My roommate paid in good faith after he was reassured that the problem was going to be fixed in 1/2. It had been 12 days and we have no heat. Couple of technicians have come and gone and the only solution they provide us is to purchase a new system for $1,795 that according to them they are giving us a great deal.

Not only that but the customer service manager was adamant that our system was up and running when the technician left the house. What it didn't register to her was the technician took our motor with them and disconnected all the wires (they were left hanging but live – big safety issue) making it completely impossible for our system to work with no motor. We are now forced to contact another company to come and fix this mess.

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

Get a refund plus they must reimbursed for us to pay a reputable contractor to fix the damaged United Air caused.

At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
