Sears Complaint - Horrible customer service and delivery
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS -- This is the last time I am ever purchasing anything from Sears. We bought an elliptical machine that had two special purchase options, 1) 5% percent off or 2) 12 months 0% financing. Well, we wanted the 0% financing and our sales assossiate could not get the computer to take it. The manager was called down and he also could not get the order to ring up properly. The order kept defaulting back to 5% off.. After several hours the manager placed some calls, and a few days later it was resolved and I was sent an e-mail to confirm. Fine and dandy until delivery day comes. Sears had called two nights prior to delivery and the night before and said my delivery window was from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. I had taken the day off work to wait. At 3:00 I started calling the delivery customer service center to let them know the delivery crew had not shown up as scheduled and that I had to leave to pick kids up from school. They told me they would send a message to the driver and have them call me and tell me when they would arrive. Not hearing from them at 3:30 I had to leave so I called the center again and they said they had would send a message to the driver telling them to call 30 minutes prior to being at my house. That would work because I would always be within 15 minutes of home. Well, of course when I get home at 4:15 they had shown up and left a message on my home phone to call and re-schedule because I was not home. I tried calling the service center three more times. The first two I was "disconnected" while they tried contacting my driver. The third did not disconnect me, he came back on and said they would be returning, and they would call when headed my way. I never heard from them. My time is too valuable to waste a day waiting on a delivery that doesn't show up when it is supposed to. I have never experienced such bad customer service as I had from the outsourced/offshore delivery call center. All interactions were very poor and very irritating. It is sad how they will call and call to verify someone will be home with a specific time window and then they don't show up when they're supposed to. This time I'm calling customer service to cancel the order and going to the local fitness store for real customer service. Nothing with the purchase of this equipment from Sears has gone well. Very disappointed.
