CALIFORNIA -- Ive gotten in an accident and after giving my report they automatically said it's my fault 100%. Isnt insurance suppose to be on your side and listen? It bothers me they said it was 100% my fault. yes I had a stop sign and the other driving didn't but to say the other driver was not negligent at all is BS. I had State Farm before and they cared they would thoroughly investigate for you and deem drivers at fault percentages. But here at GEICO they just want to close the case, point fingers and move on.
PROS: CHEAP insurance
CONS: once you have a claim it's over. They treat you like a child, are nasty and rude, and don't care about you or what pictures you have submitted to prove your case. It's like they're on other drivers side to raise your premium!! ROBBERS are right!

If you ran a red light then I would also say that you are at fault. What was the evidence/proof you have that it was somehow due to the other driver's negligence?
I also have GEICO and last year I filed my first ever auto accident claim. It was my daughter's fault so we had to pay the ticket and driving school, but GEICO took care of the rental and the repairs with courtesy and efficiency. I was most impressed with how they handled my claim.

If you had the STOP sign, and the other driver didn't, I can see how they MIGHT deem you 100% responsible. It depends on other details, such as did you run the STOP sign, did you fail to yield, etc. If you pulled out and your car died and the other guy came along and slammed into you, that is another matter completely.
