Beeman's Compliment - Great Air Rifle
Recently, I was in the market for an aire rifle for plinking and varmints. At the local WalMart, I was drooling over the Ruger Air Hawk, then I read some reviews on the rifle. Right below the Ruger was the Beeman's Grizzly. I compared the two carefully, and they were of similar quality, having nice walnut stocks, fiber optic sights and a 4X32 scope. the final factors boiled down to two, the price difference and the fact that the Beeman's had ywo barrels and calibers. I remember when I was a kid and used to see the Beeman's ads in Mechanics Illustrated. I was under the impression that. 22 caliber airguns were no longer made, but found they are indeed. Swapping out the barrels is a snap, between the. 177 and. 22 barrels takes about five minutes. The European style stock is very well done and all seems to be of top quality. Very heavy, but that is not a problem, and the listed weight is the same as for the Ruger.
