Web Bank/Dell Financial Services Informative - Dell Financial Services Sucks, so thank God for Web Bank! They are professionals!
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS -- Just as my ex and I were finishing up our divorce (Jan,2009), she decided to use my (then) good credit to open a Dell Computer credit account and go ahead and order about $5,000 in computer equipment I never saw.
I first learned of the account maybe 9 months later when "my" mail for the bill finally caught up with me. I immediately called Dell Financial Services--in India, of course. The "customer service" reps there are like robots: if you ask them anything they don't know about, they hang up on you.
It took, literally, HUNDREDs of such calls and DOZENS of letters for this to finally end up with a very helpful executive at Web Banck, the company that administers credit accounts for Dell. Believe me, it was no small trick finally tracking these folks down, but speed with which this very professional, very helpful executive got the situation dealt with was nothing short of astounding (I had around $120,000 in other debt established in the same fraudulent manner and few other companies moved this quickly, either).
In any case, within about two weeks the account had been removed from reporting to the credit agencies as mine, Dell is no longer allowed to attempt to collect it from me, and I was provided what amount to letters of apology (and statements admitting the account and debt are not mine) from both Dell and Web Bank.
Web Bank is clearly run by top-notch professionals. Dell...not so much.
